any writers?

I've been working on my writing a lot lately and im to the point where I am churing out stuff every night.

I have two posters who also write some who I've been able to get good feedback from and another one gave me two awesome places on the web to submit some of my stuff and get some professional feedback.

I really have no clue what im doing so the more I get the better I think.

Any writers here?

any tips for improving? Sites you visit? places you submit your work.

Anything and everything appreciated. For the first time in probably forever I feel like I have a hobby I enjoy.

being in the blogosphere has been good for me - getting positive feedback -

I have no idea how to turn writing into a career, but between songs, the blog, and internet forums, I stay busy enough...

yeah I have no desire to ruin another hobby by turning into a career but I would like to get good at it though.

right now I've been writing all true stories from my life. Id like to do fiction though definently. or pehaps a combination of something from my life that I use to write something fictional.

does it matter?

Yep one is Chuck Palahniuk's site which apparently has a writer's workshop where you can submit stuff and get feedback. I'm going to send in 2-3 things this week.

and the second is Max Berry's where he will apparently respond to emails and give feedback well.

Both sound very cool and something I want to do.

It is very short, so reading it requires a very small investment in time. It also doesn't cost much. As far as utility, buying it and reading it was the best decision I've made so far. I still read it cover to cover now and then just to stay sharp.

I've been a professional writer for over 15 years...screenplays, mostly ...and no, I'm not talking porn! You're doing the right thing - writing! Only way to improve. Also, read - a lot. All kinds of stuff.

If you're doing short stories, there are plenty of places to submit...check out the Writer's Market Guide. There's also tuns of other resources out there - just Google it.

As for getting feedback - maybe a college course, a writer's network in your area, etc.

Just keep writing!

Not really sure about the feedback. I've written things over the years but never seem to finish them. I like writing better than reading.

Did you know that you can publish any book you write, though?

My mom has written two books and published them via "xlibris.com" I believe. She's written a book called Norwegian Wood which is (blatant plug) a fictional account of real events that took place in Norway during WWII. I think it cost her ~$500 to get it published. It's print-on-demand publishing, though. So you won't find it in stores. But if you go to Barnes & Noble or whatever, you can request it and they'll print order it in about 2 weeks.

Thought you might like to know, in case you ever finish one worthy of binding! I'd love to some day, but right now, poker is my clock-killer! Good luck.
