Thanks Bruce. I knew it was Tuesday, but didn't realize it was in the morning!

Unfortunately it will be quite low, so you need an unobstructed view of the western sky. Then depending how far west you live, the sunrise will occur shortly after totality.

I once viewed a total lunar eclipse in the wilds of Alaska during the dead of night. Great thing to see and experience. That was very many years ago, just before the Exodus.

But of more import is the revealing fact that tomorrow is my Birthday. Obviously then this lunar eclispe event is especially significant for me. I'll let the astrologers, numerologists, necromancers and The Vatican elaborate.

This eclipse was also in the dead of night, for those of us in the wilds of Alaska. Due south from me at the start of totality. The darkest of several eclipses I've seen - a deep rust colour instead of the usual orangey or coppery lunar eclipse. Accompanied by a nice aurora about an hour before the start of totality, but only a few wisps of green left during the eclipse itself.

I also enjoyed making some $$ off a group of online poker players I don't usually meet, thanks to the late hour.

Re: Total lunar eclipse tomorrow morning

I have seen many lunar eclipses in my life, but for this one I was camping (in the NE corner of Yellowstone), so it was the first I had seen away from city lights and smog. I wasn't aware that this eclipse was going to happen until I happened to hear about it on the radio while traveling from one location to another.

Seeing it in a remote location was cool, because I got the full effect of it getting much darker, and more stars becoming visible during totality.
