do you think your typical stars .50/1 player donks this turn with less than QJ or JT or 2 spades?

i agree it's a bit dirty and one looks like he has qx and the other looks like he has jx, yes. i do think that if we hit the gutshot we can c/r the field on the river and get some bets back, so i think the implied odds more or less cancel out the semi-dirty outs. caveat is that i am more of a feel player than a math/odds player but i think i would make this call. i haven't played .5/1 in a long time but i think that's a pretty mubsy range for a .5/1 game no? i don't how tight stars games are obv...

I'm not over-calling that turn. I give it up.

I'm not sure about the flop c-bet. Ok, UTG+1 is a LAG, but it's still likely that someone's picked up something on that board and the pot is large, so I don't think you're folding anything you care about. I wouldn't want to be raised here as you've got enough outs that you want to see the turn.

As played: turn is close, but I can see a typical .5/1 player doing this with a J without a Q, and you should be able to pull of a c-r if a T hits. So call.

No way man! We can close the betting and see a river. We also have good relative position to check/overcall if we hit our gutshot as we can close the betting and get the 2 extra bets that we need to correctly call this turn. We will also win sometimes when we pick up an A (not usually though). The point is, if it goes check, bet, raise, we can safely fold whatever river card comes.
