WCOOP Satellites 5 card draw

Anyone understand why POkerstars is running all of the satellites to this event in a different format than the tourneys on the site daily?

What are your thoughts?

I want to try and satellite in and should be a good challenge.

Look forward to hearing some thoughts on this event as in total prizepool.

fwiw the 5cd sats are the same formats as events #1 and #3. I've never played 5cd but i do have a lot of satellite experience and in the couple i played tonight i felt i had an edge over most players. I would think anybody with actually 5cd tourney experience could do very well in these, win multiple seats and sell the $W.

I played one today and qualified quite comfortably in the end. Seems that a lot of the players had little to no experience, and some were very obviously holdem only players, that were knocking themselves out with AKxxx predraw etc. Could easily use these sats to fund a seat to other events like jgunnip said.

Must.. get money..on stars...before it unfishes itself... so little time... so few deposit options... so tired of grinding at 1/2 ahh.

It's nice satellites and i agree with Oi Frango. I played 8+0,8 satellite 07/15/07 and qualified from first time. Every 215$ gives 1 ticket to Event №3. There were 92 players and i afraid about 3 or 4 tikets. At the end there were 11 tickets and 4 places in money(nearly 25$) I spend 24,80$. Not bad, as for me

Admittedly, I squeaked my way to the seat in the $8 2-7 sats, but I agree, the competition was pretty weak, overall. I'm definitely going to play these again to get more WCOOP seats.

I won the $215 buy-in on a $36+ 3 satelite, and it was just strange to see how weak the play was, fro a 30+ buy-in. People were limping, short stacks folding all the way down to 1 BB at the bubble, people calling of smallish (less then half the pot) bets Post-draw with weak hands.
I'm no 5cd expert, and even I found the game soft.

The play is so weak but I've gotten screwed. First time KK66 beat AATT when it hit a FH, then when I was short i went all in with 9's up and Kings improved, then the same guy who called an all in with A high had QQQ when I had JJJ. Cest la vie I guess. I might just forget this and buy into the tournament anyway.

Seems like I do well early, get sucked out once, then go card dead. With the fast blinds and the loose play, it's almost impossible to bluff.
