The Illini (#15) are guranteed to move up to the top 14 of the BCS with #14 Tennessee and #11 BC losing. As long as the Rose Bowl chooses to stick with its tradition and goes Big 10 / Pac 10 I think we are in.

Happy Pitt won, although losing the Civil War in that way still makes this a crappy day. It's funny that I came in expected Oregon to get blown out or lose something like 13-3 and I'm still upset about it.

Last time I checked, Hawaii played Div 1 football and are the only undefeated team in the nation.

WTF, no way that OSU deserves to go the NC right? I mean look at their schedule for pete's sake. Georgia, LSU, USC all deserve a shot and they deserve it more than OSU.

I like our defensive matchup against USC's offense. We've been playing well against the run and Booty is mistake prone.

But, whatever, I'd play the Harlem Globetrotters if it meant playing in teh Rose Bowl.

And Nebraska. At least there's precedent for missing your conference championship game altogether and still going to the Big Game.

Personally, I think that in the current system you should have to be a conference champ to play in the national championship game; however, having a true playoff system is much higher on my priority list than this rule, and if getting UGA into the game helps create enough fan outrage to move things closer to a playoff, than that's what I'm pulling for.

ClarkNasty, I went to UIUC but am a UF fan for the last 10 years. (I'm 22).

Hence, I'm personally rooting for a good times matchup of the Zookers/Gators.

2001 Nebraska was #1 going into their last regular season game, lost to colorado who had one or two out-of-confernce losses but was undefeated in the big 12, colorado goes to the Big 12 championship, nebraska left out but still goes to the Rose Bowl and gets absolutely spanked by Miami.

2003 Oklahoma goes into the big 12 championship #1 and undefeated (I think I may have suggested at one point in that season that OU was in the top 5 all time college football teams), gets rolled by Kansas State in a HUGE upset. They still get the nod to the Sugar Bowl ahead of one-loss USC who is ranked #1 in BOTH POLLS after the OU loss in the Big 12 game. LSU beats OU for the BCS championship, but USC wins the rose bowl and gets the AP trophy.
