ESPN:
"Getting the 3-4 experience might be the edge he [Rivera] needs to get a 2008 head coaching job in what is expected to be a wide-open market."

No big deal. Lovie deserves most of the credit for that defense anyway.

This was my thinking as well. I don't know for sure how much credit Rivera deserves, but I'd guess Lovie should get most of it.

Mm, yeah. He's interviewed for eight HC jobs in two years and instead ends up getting demoted to linebacker coach. He'll be right there in line for an '08 gig interviewing against Cowher, Parcells, and Schottenheimer.

You really think Parcells will think about coming back. I honestly hope he doesn't. I guess if he does, that Giants position is probally his best bet.

I think he'll be back. Probably not really next year, but down the line.

You do know he is 65 and has a bad heart right?

He also has been hired by ESPN and Michael Irvin has "not been retained"

Meh. So you think Parcells will be dead before he takes another job? Possibly but last time he was 60 with a bad heart. Assuming he's not dead, I think he'll be back.

Cowher has taken a broadcasting job too. Does that mean he won't be back? As an aside, I think firing Irvin because you're afraid of what he might say and then hiring Parcells is pretty funny.

I think they probably fired Irvin because he's an idiot who doesn't know how to talk.

Then why do they keep Sean Salisbury?

Someone needs to start an official "Someone Give Denny Green Another Job So He Can Hire Salsbury Away From Broadcasting" thread.
