techniques for chugging
 

ok when you are chugging beer ppl say to open your throat and just pour it down. But I cant seem to do that. Do you guys need the gulping to get the liquid down or is that not properly opening your throat?

yeah im not that slow but probably only in 40th centile. Id like to be faster just for the sake of it. Tolerance is not a problem, I can outdrink most, but it pisses me off when I lose a boatrace or whatever

turn up the can get at around a 45 degree angle, so that the beer flows swiftly enough, to make that machine gun sound.....then just close your eyes and guzzle, steadily tilting your head back and whatnot...the can should be empty at 90 degrees.

horrible. you should be able to finish a 12 oz beer in max two "gulps". you arent swallowing but making a "guh guh" sound like a cat that is about to puke. the guh guh strat works very well in bootraces i have not lost one so far this year and often have multiple challengers a night. for a single beer just pour it down plz

I am with you OP. I don't understand how to do this either. I can drink plenty of beer, but not very fast.

one of the keys to chugging is pouring the beer into a solo cup, you can drink it so much quicker out of that due to less carbonation

tilt ur head back adn try to open ur throat up and gently let it slide into ur throat and down into the recesses and gush down

you can also use this technique when guzzling beer

1. Pinch the cup into the shape of an oval, it makes it a lot easier to chug.
2. Practice with water. Keg beer is often really flat, so it's not that much harder than water to take down.

You have to practice a lot, and you will probably throw up a lot before you get better at it.

Start small. Fill a solo cup up to the small line on the inside and practice taking it down in one large gulp.

Keep practicing and moving up until you can take down a full beer. When you get to this level, just tile your head back as you pinch the cup and try to take the beer down in 2-3 gulps.

As ghey as the "open the throat" advice is, it is the secret. You will throw up a lot while trying to get better, but practicing will keep you from losing to the girls team in flip cup because you are sipping 1/4 cup of beer.

I learnt how to do this by swiftly drinking litre bottles of water before bed to avoid hangovers. Just tilt the so the neck is facing straight down, put your head back and open your mouth - practice until you don't spill anything.

It's really easy. You could practice by putting a straw in the neck of the bottle too, as it improves the speed at which the beer flows. (obv straw not in mouth)
