AJs Sunday Million/Early

Hero should have a semi loose image. It is still the first few orbits and table has been playing reasonably tight. I recently lost a hand where I opened Axs in LP, flop QJx, he c/c-s my c-bet, turn T, he checks and I check, and river Q he bets and I fold. I also stole the next hand after in LP.

Villan has played one hand where he limped PF and then folded on the flop. He has been quiet.

CO has not done anything and not relevant.

Looks good, now call.

Re: AJs Sunday Million/Early

Alright, I think that call is fairly standard. Just needed some assurance.

This is such a sick spot. I think folding is fine and calling is also okay.

Hero folds. What the hell are you beating here? He probably turned top set, which is why his bet size is so small.

Either that or he flopped top set, but he definitely has a set.

I like how you played up to river, and I don't think his range is only sets by river, he could be blocking TT/JJ/QQ/KQhh/KThh and possibly be playing 9x this way. Tho, I do think you are going to be beat a decent % of time, you're def not beat often enough to justify folding getting 11 to 3. I would just call since you're prob behind his calling range if you raise AI.

set of kings is kinda creepin me out, only because if I was in the hand I would have check/called twice and donked off another 3k on the end there. Folding isnt horrible on the turn and probably would have been easier to do considering you had one more pull at it. The ace on the river is the only card making this so brutal.

Really folding here seems so bad he bet 3k into 8k we need to be good like 20% of the time... every draw missed he could be making a stupid blocker folding this river would be so bad.

Re: AJs Sunday Million/Early

You only need to be good about 22% of the time to break even on the river call. However, I would say that you are not good that often and can make a tough fold and feel good about it.

I really, really dislike the turn call btw. I think in this tournament I much prefer to raise his 1500 and get it in on the flop. I mean we have a nut draw; our Ace is good a fair amount - and we need to do a lot of flipping and gambling in that tournament anyway.
