considering stack sizes, i think i put him all-in on the flop....but i feel compelled to raise this preflop, i hate minraises

Re: Am I ahead here ever?

you shove olmost 6k in 600 pot ?
you know how weak that looks
youre hand is already underrated because you called a mini raise from the BB wich you can do with 57o

pre is fine
flop is ok but a raise to 500 might give you some extra info
turn i wanna raise for info but raising flop is cheaper
as played i might just flat the turn and hope for a showdown

I put UTG all in pre, I'm OOP, and the pot is now a big chunk of effective stack sizes.

I think its pretty standard to be honest with no one else in the pot.

Re: Am I ahead here ever?

I raise to ~700 pre flop. I have seen so many people show down crap with UTG min raise. I can also fold comfortably to a 4 bet pre flop.

Many times its a suited connector trying to scare away a reraise so that he sees a flop cheap.

As played I chk raise flop and also prolly fold to a 3-bet as we can still have lots of chips left behind for a better spot.

chk/call is just too passive for me, how does that sound?

I think this is a pretty easy turn fold, best case senario he has QQ or KK with the spade or a chop. fwiw I think I play the same, RR pre is a disaster waiting to happen

Re: Am I ahead here ever?

You guys do realise that UTG has only 1730 left after his raise, and there's 450 in the pot after you call right?

How is this not a push pre?

also, raise 700 pre and fold is sick as you would be getting more than 2:1 on his 4-bet.
