What\'s the best way to learn the math behind +/- ev, fold quity, etc?

And also learning how to apply it?

Should I just use pokerstove as I go?

Maybe read other people's lines and figure it that way?

I assume the more I use it, eventually there'll be a point where everything is second nature?

I might have already answered my own question, but I was curious how others learned it.

By +/- Ev I assume you mean equity and odds.

Play. Study. Do some post play analysis. Repeat. Check out the the other forums pertaining to your game level for specific hand scenarios and others insight.

The more you do it the easier it becomes. Pokerstove is a good tool to help with the analysis part.

Fold Equity is a judgement call. There is no "real" specific number. It will vary depending on a number of variables - image, board texture, betting patterns, etc.

And don't be afraid to post up problems and questions, just like you did here.
