Beginner ?s..poker tracker and first deposit
 

sorry if these are stupid ?'s. im starting on poker stars and tried to deposit money with my banks visa and it was declined. if i buy a prepaid visa and put money on that will it work? and also i want to start using poker tracker. i have it downloaded, how does everything get integrated into it, by email, folders? im confused how to get all my hands and results in it. thanks for ny help

Some of the pre-paid visa cards work for deposits. You might look around the internet forum to see which ones will suit your purpose.

As for PT and Stars - You need to make sure that your hand histories are being written to your hard disk (there is an option somewhere in the PS menu). Once you do this and figure out where the files are being written you can set up PT to import the files automatically every X minutes where X is an option.

Are you using a credit card or a debit card? Because Visa credit cards will not work on PS, while visa debit cards will.

i was using a visa debit card and i guess my bank declined the transaction. i also heard western union works. is this true?

Yes. There's an option on the deposit screen, at which point you will be given a name & city to wire the money to. It sounds fishy but it is a reliable deposit method.

so using western union it would be safe to send like 500 bucks and the funds will go through instantly to pokerstars with no problems?

I've never done it personally, but I know it does work based on other posts from here. It's not instant, but it shouldn't take too long either...24 hours tops? Basically, however long it takes Western Union to send the funds, a Stars employee to receive the wire in Costa Rica or wherever, and then another Stars employee to update your account.

Also, I don't think you can use a credit card with the Western Union option

Correct. Stars clearly states that you _must_ use cash. Credit cards will end up getting returned and take up to 30 days to be refunded to you,
