50NL 2 Pair, cant put villain on a hand

Villain is 40/6.5/2.5 over about 50 hands, im 22/16 over the same session. Have seen him turn up with junk middle pairs and some raggy aces.

Not mad about my river bet, was a little confused about how he played the turn, trying to extract value. Didnt expect a raise. Is it a call or fold here?

Well he could have 87 or a set. Call flop with a GS picked up double gutter on turn. He is most likley drawing on this board so I would go into Check-call mode on river.

get away from marginal situations... dont complete the small blind with this hand.

[ QUOTE ]
3) Marginal situations - The more experience you acquire, the more able you will be to handle marginal situations. This can definitely add a BB to your winrate. However, as other posters have made note of, they aren't that important! If you have a hard time in marginal situations, you will save yourself money and frustration by keeping yourself out of them. Fold QJo on the button if everyone has limped to you and you don't want to raise, but don't want to call. It may not be optimal (and I may get flamed for suggesting it), but when you enter a pot, you're potentially risking your whole stack. The marginal EV you gain playing the hand isn't worth the risk if you'll get stacked a bunch when you hit top pair.[ QUOTE ]

What is everyone so scared about?

Def bet more on the river for value, you're so likely to have the best hand and it looks like he's coming all the way

As played that river raise looks really ominous but like OP I can't put villain on a hand either. He could have slow-played a set or bd'd a straight or flush... but he could also have a worse 2 pair or be making some kind of random bluff vs your weak blocker-esque bet... As played I'd call getting 3-1 but wouldn't be very happy about it

What the hell is that $5 river bet anyways?

It looks weak. Aggressive players will see that baby bet on the river and raise you with a lot of hands.

I can't tell if he's raising you because he's strong or simply because the way you bet makes you look weak.
