Colo players gilpin ???

anyone play the sat sun noon tournys at the gilpin just wondering if you know do they sell out? what time do I need to be there if they do? also how many do they get for these and how many places do they pay out. I swore I wouldnt go up there to play anymore but my friend swears the sat sun noon tourny have good structures so I am going to give em one more chance need to get some b&m pratice before the hpt event.

Sad to say not much has changed at the Gilpin as to the quality of the players (they will still call your raises with just about any two cards, especially of those two cards are suited). It'll be okay though, if you can survive the first few hours, when most of the fish are driven out. Just play carefully, be very agressive if you play any hands the first two hours, and you should be fine.

That said (about how fishy the players are there), it'll most likely be your best bet to get practice in for the HPT events, since most who enter will be those same locals.

Over all though, the tournaments are much better than the live action (I refuse to play live action in colorado anymore, until colorado changes the laws to at the very least, something like they did in Florida (where now there you can play N/L with a max buy in of 100 bucks)). If the drive there wasn't so long for me (it's 70 miles each way from my house), I'd play in more tournaments there.

As for them selling out, well, normally it's the sunday event that normally sells out, so I'd be there NLT 11 am to buy into that one.

P.S. If they do sell out, you might want to consider walking down to the Gates casino, as I think they have a noon event as well. There are links in the HPT thread to the Gates Casino poker room, if you are interested.
