4.40 (180) JT real early

This is the 4th hand, I raised and took blinds the 3rd hand. So, not much going on. Call the flop with intent on shoving over his turn bet. Without the redraw I'm folding if the turn is a club and *maybe* an Ace. Shoving everything else. Good, bad, standard, spew?

spew

JT isnt really a hand that you're looking to hit a pair with and stack off. look for good draws, two pair, trips etc etc

BB likes his hand a lot and one pair OK kicker isnt gonna cut it here a lot.

Because this hand is extremely early in the tournament, you should generally take a player at his word. If not much is going on in the first three hands, and assuming this player has not played yet, I'd be inclined to think that Villain believes they have the best hand.

You would be losing to AT KT QT & 43. Many believe that a c/r on the flop indicates a weak hand. I am not one of those players, at least not early on. I play in this tourney on PokerStars. Rarely do I see a c/r at this level. For me, it's too early to risk the tournament on TPGK. I'd fold here & note this player to see how they play down the road.

If you planned to go all-in with this hand, then I believe the time to do that would have been after his c/r to 200. Maybe reraise to 400-500, taking away draws and see how serious he is with the hand.

Then again, this could me spew...

check raises are weaker in HU pots

but this is multiway so its the real deal

with a couple players behind against this line im never calling here, id fold pf (limping is fine sometimes, whatever), and definitely fold as played to the flop c/r

Yep agree. Looks as though villain does like his hand a lot. I too fold to the CR on the flop, but as played definately the lead from villain at the turn has me folding this hand. In a limped pot you could easily be up against 2 pair here. IMO you got a little carried away with TP.

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, I'm one of those people. I think my non standard bet in position on the flop is getting raised by a lot of hands that are way behind me like middle pair because it looks like I'm just limp/stealing.

IMO I either have to fold the flop raise or do this. Calling and folding turn seems wrong based on my SNG experience at this level no one is *not* betting out strong on the turn. I think a worse hand can call my turn shove (at this level) but it's also a very marginal play and definitely expect to be behind when called more often than not.

If this went bet/call and I got c/r'd on turn I dump it for sure. I just hate folding top pair to flop c/r in MTT's. Leak?

its not just a flop c/r though
its a flop c/r AND a strong turn lead on a fairly harmless card.

c/r on the flop HU is much different than multiway

learn these distinctions
