I would definatly bet the turn... after checking behind on the turn I would definatly bet the river... with your opponent checking in front of you your hand has atleast one more street of value... Villian isnt checking a T to u on this river after you checked behind on the turn... I'm nearly certain he has something that has a combo draw like 98s... or any pair with a str8 draw like 99... but thats just from the information that you have given me above a read on villian could change my opinion...

bet 600 on flop, 600 on turn, check on river. The way you played it, at least bet on the river. Unless he's slowplaying so bad he's psyched himself out, you're ahead of a lot of his calling hands.

say the hand is as played except for the river. Those who are saying bet how much are you betting?

This would mean betting 600 into a pot of 2k on the turn? What the reasoning for this?

I am not Ynnos put I would assume that this is a nearly unexploitable probe bet... for example... Ynnos instead has AK in the above hand rather then JJ... on the flop he puts out a C-bet and is called... the turn brings an A... If he makes this same bet in that situation as he does here I like this play... because it sort of forces your opponent to act with little risk to you... if he flopped the str8, a set, or 2-pair in this spot the villian is going to have to define that at this point and it likely to give up otherwise... (this is obviously most effective if you yourself could hold 97s or a set in this spot... which requires a unique set of open raising hands preflop... really this isnt going to matter unless you are up against a VERY good pro aggro but I had to say it anyways)

If you arent doing that then I think betting a more reasonable amount between 1/2-3/4 the pot on the turn is the best course of action...

Re: $10 JJ spot

The reasoning is that he's folding lots of hands to this bet, whether its 600 or 1K. Probably any 8, maybe not J9, but thats prob the worst hand he called your raise after limping. If he calls the turn, you still got money in the pot with what may very well be the best hand, and he'll check the river regardless if he has an ace or not; maybe even a T to induce you to bluff. Then you check behind of course.

However, by checking behind on the turn, you open up the possibility that he'll fire at the river with nothing. Better yet, fire big hoping you read it as a bluff. You'll be hard-pressed figuring out if he has a T or an ace and probably fold. By betting the turn, I think you get money in if you're ahead and a free showdown on the river regardless.

More of a blocking bet then in your mind... still think it has probe bet qualites to it as well though... If you dont consider your own range though... and only the range of your opponent... when betting varying sizes like this then it is probably exploitable... but likely only at the higher levels... or to an exceptional player who for whatever reasons is playing smaller stakes at the time...
