NL $200: AA turn question.

I am quite certain I am beat, is calling the flop and betting the turn my best course of action? He is short-stacked, so I don't have much respect for him, but I can't think I am ahead here.

Only 14 hands registered against villian.

I would defenetly check behind turn, and after that either betting the river if checked to or call a bet if he fires.

Check the turn. Sure, he might have a draw like JQ or 78, but that is unlikely and the board is otherwise drawless. That means you are either way ahead or way behind, and you should therefore strive for a little pot control. So, check the turn, then call up to pot-sized bet on the river.

As played, fold to the huge check raise on the turn. That's why you should have checked behind.

Let's say hero checked behind on the turn, and then villain check-raised on the river if you bet when he checks. How much of a check-raise, if any, would you call on the river (assuming the river is a blank and not something wierd like a third 9)?

if you arent goin to reraise the flop i wouldnt bet that turn. on the turn you have to call as played for pot odds. but i dont think it was played badly.

I think you have to pot odds the turn.

Other than two things I agree with your analysis. The first is that 78 flopped the nut straight. The second is that I would definitely not call a PSB on a variety of rivers. If you're checking turn you need to re-evaluate the board on the river because your turn check allows his holdings a chance to catch up (say he has a straight draw or pair + 1 card straight draw, etc.) Most people won't pot every river just because you checked behind.
