Stealing/defending blinds

I'm new to shorthanded play. My first 30K hands have gone well when considering BB/100, but when comparing my stats to other posters stats or some of the top performers in my database my stealing and defending numbers are off.

My attempted steals are 24% and I'm folding my BB to steals 45%. I see a lot of players with both numbers 10 points higher.

My positional stats tell me I'm -.11 in the BB, which seems pretty good from what I've observed.

What is the ideal steal percentage/defending percentage?

What do you steal with to get up to 30? I just can't bring myself to steal with 92o. Do you steal a lot out of the SB? I really feel uncomfortable being out of position.

As far as defending my blind goes, I find it hard to fold agaisnt the high percentage stealers and a lot of cards look good getting 3.3:1, plus I think my numbers look pretty good from that position.

Any insight would be appreciated.

My attempt to steal is at 41% which is probably just a little too high for my abilities right now. 35-40% is the generally accepted range for stealing. Your folded BB to steal is probably pretty good.

As for steal ranges, most playable hands from the Button for sure.

My usual range for the CO would include
T9s+, 44+, JTo+, Q8s+, K6s+, Axs, K9o+, A6o+

From the Button I open it up to
87s+, 22+, T9o+, Q5s+, K4s+, Axs, K7o+, Axo

I definetly mix it up and throw in some worse hands occasionally, or fold some of those in the above range. A lot depends on how tight the blinds are and how well they play.

Yes, -.11 for the BB is excellent, but your sample size is WAY too small to get even close to an idea as to how you are doing there.

what if they're very loose and you know they'll call 90% of the time? what do you use to steal then?

If I have seen so far, it's only because I stood on the shoulders of giants
