What\'s your cut?

I'm not an affiliate, but I was just wondering how much affiliates are profiting if they offer rakeback. Say you're giving 25% rakeback, are you getting 28-30% or so?

Thanks in advance.

Smaller affiliates like myself will make about 5% MGR off players. Larger rakeback affiliates will easily make double or triple this ammount.

A lot of work goes into creating a site and working out deals with poker rooms. It's a tough business to get into.

So be nice to your affilates!! hehe

5% of gross rake is nirvana...making 10 to 15% of gross rake is unheard of. if you mean 5% of what the player collects, that is a bit on the low side.

He mentioned it was 5% of MGR, so that sounds about average.

I think most newer affiliates average 0-3% and are lucky to make 5%. Larger affiliates typically make 5% and almost never see a 10-15% margin. The business is very competitive these days and that keeps the max margins around 5% no matter how large an affiliate is.

Understand that affiliates have overhead like employyee costs, possible benefits, website maintenance, advertising, freerolls etc. Bottom line, they help us the poker player get money in our accounts by signing up with them that we otherwise would not have, seems like a win win for all.

Most affiliates are ex dot-com millionaires who give rakeback out of the kindness of their hearts, and to have something to do with their time. most of them break even or lose money, but enjoy the work so they keep doing it.

Why even reply if you're just going to be an azz? I've often wondered the same thing as the OP.

The affiliate business does take a lot of time and overhead once you reach a certain point.
