What's your table image? I could see villain playing AQ or KQ like this.

Do you know what his cold calling frequency is? I find this to be a really useful stat.

AQ/KQ should be a pretty big part of your range here. His hand looks like a bluff or at least a strong enough Q that will want to put another bet in on the river.

Therefore, it would be reasonable to play AQ/KQ the way you did, and you'll have that often enough that folding now is OK.

I read too many game theory books.
