some live 25/50 stud hi hands

my image is fairly tight, been folding a lot up until hand 1. ante is 5, bring is 5.

hand 1

3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] brings in, loose asian guy with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] calls, loose black guy with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] calls, i complete with (K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img])5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] with the J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] behind me. solid player who views me as solid (one of the few i've played with before) with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] calls. bring in folds, others call.

4th:
asian: (xx)7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
brother: (xx)T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
me: (K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img])5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
solid: (xx)J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

brother bets out, i raise, solid folds, asian calls two cold (?), brother 3-bets, i call, planning to raise on 5th street. asian calls behind me.

5th:
asian: (xx)7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
brother: (xx)T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
me: (K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img])5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

brother bets, i see he only has one more bet left. i raise, asian cold calls, brother calls all-in.

6th:
asian: (xx)7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
brother: (all-in) (xx)T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
me: (K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img])5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

i bet, asian raises. i pause a little bit and 3-bet.

hand 2:

loose persian completes utg+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. i call next in with the (K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img])8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. there is no paint behind me and think the A would complete here with a wide range, and think there will be multiway action. but everyone else folds.

4th:
him: (xx) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
me: (K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img])8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

he bets and i decide to peel so i beat him into the pot.

5th:
him: (xx) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
me: (K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img])8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

i bet out and he calls fairly quickly.

6th:
him: (xx) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
me: (K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img])8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

he bets out and i call with my gutter+flush draw+pair. i brick on river, he checks defensively and i check behind.

i feel like online i would be tempted to raise 6th - spew or legitimate play? shouldn't i be more willing to semibluff here live rather than online since no one ever folds two pair here online ever?

Hand 1 the asian guy either has 78 or 56 under. Unless he is very loose cold calling multiple bets for two streets with minor one pair seems unlikely. If he has 56 you are in bad shape. I would check raise river with fh and check call if you don't fill.

you pretty much have the second nuts, with a couple of blockers vs. the nuts, in hand 1 so I'm not seeing the problem there?

in hand 2, does anybody in stud fold aces up at any point, online or live? legitimate question.

hand1:
I don't understand the 3-bet... there are more ways he can have the straight than trips or two pairs, plus if he does have you beat he'll re-raise you.

hand2:
I can't comment on online versus live. Whether or not a raise here is spewing just depends on your opponent I suppose. Against your loose persian guy I think it's spewing.

Question - anyone keep pumping on 4th street in hand #1? I like Blumpkin's 6th street 3-bet assuming villain's range includes hands like slowplayed AA, 2 pair or a set, very few people play a straight draw like that unless they are burning money, and an actual straight as played is unlikry.

20/40 stud hi at the Taj..I've folded trip aces (correct decision, after the fact) and had a guy show me then fold aces full on 7th street against my aggressively bet 3 jacks on the board. He was positive I had quads the whole time. I was jacks full and caught the 4th jack on the river. He did make some savvy, selective laydowns during the session.

Hand#1

You played great up till this point. He can't play two pair like this and put you on AA in the hole, he has to think you have something stronger.

OMG, I just answered my own question here! He has lesser trips, and I love your 3-bet, nh.

Hand#2

Standard, you have to be older than him to pull this bluff off, you aren't.

I like the first hand. If he turns out to have the straight, you've got outs.

Second hand looks good as well. I don't think that raising sixth has a lot of merit. I doubt you have any fold equity, and there's no value to getting a free showdown when you don't have anything to show down yet.

On hand #1: I think your 3 bet was a bit over the top; If he made a straight, he's supposed to hit you back, and if he was the type to do so, then I like your line a lot less with only 1 card to come.

Hand#2: Eh. Not crazy about 4th. To be honest, I'm not that crazy about 3rd *given your position*. What made you feel that this was going to be a multi-way pot? Because without it, your hand doesn't play very well against his Ace door, as it's going to be so much easier for him to run you outta the hand, even with blanks. Which is why this hand is sucky HU. I'd prefer your call on 3rd had there been callers before it got to you.

$5 ante/$5 bring-in? Good structure for the tight player...where was this game?

Re: some live 25/50 stud hi hands

I'd 3-bet 6th street on 1st hand as well. For him to cold-call 2 bets on both 4th and 5th, I'd put him on trip 7s or 9s much more often than if he had 56 in the hole.

If he's willing to give that much action with a gutshot straight draw, then make a note and follow him around with a bucket.
