Casinos are sprinkled across the island, but i haven't seen any bars with games or any tournaments hosted at the casinos..

can I spear head the revolution down here?

The people here have a crazy buying pattern of spending spending even though they have no money, on paper that is...

I can't believe no one thinks that poker could be bigger here. Humberto Brenes won some tournament in the El San Juan Hotel a while ago, and that is the only one i have heard about (and only through googling)

What kinda annual income would be considered 'good' money down there? I realize this will have to be a ballpark figure but it would interest me nonetheless.

Like how much would it cost to live the good life down there. Thanks.

According to this San Juan, Puerto Rico ranks on par with cities like Vancouver in terms of cost of living. On the flip side, Manila is dirt cheap.

San Juan is expensive as are most major metropolitan capitals, that said, utilities are costly on the island and health care is laughable...but i guess it is the island flavor (p.s. i am glad i have a company car, because insurance must be horrendous)

I live outside of San Juan, so it isn't as bad...

I grew up in PR and go every year. The last time I asked, I was told NL holdem cash games weren't legal. The only cash games you will find are those weird 5-10 spread limit games and sometimes 10-20. They do run NL tournaments at the Intercontinental hotel (next to Hotel San Juan) in Isla Verde.

how about a bar league like in the mainland, do you think that would work here?!

Or maybe talking with the casino mangament in other hotels and setting them up with some tournaments or maybe bringin big name events down here?!!?
