Aces and Kings all in?

OK, everything I've read says you should be willing to go all-in preflop with aces (duh!) and kings. Really?

I've been doing it, and every time I push it preflop with KK, I get called with AA. The only time I get an inferior call (with either hand) is when an opponent is shortstacked. But when someone has a full buy in or more, I always end up against aces.

Yesterday I even went all in with aces and got called by.... aces!

I have been called with kings a couple times when I've had aces, but much more often than that I've lost with kings to aces.

Is it really true you should be willing to push with kings? Obviously it's player dependent and if you can get a read that an opponent would never make a 3rd raise unless.... blah blah blah.

But seriously....

This is useless without a hand to discuss. --4_2_it

looks like you're a victim of variance.

Maybe you are playing full ring?
On full ring I also stopped pushing with kings because my stats were showing it was -EV there. On the 6-max tables however, it's another story, where you get called down by AK and QQ quite a lot.

More likely he's misplaying the hand preflop.

OP, question is unanswerable except by saying that, yes, under most circumstances you should be willing to push with Aces & Kings preflop. If you want a better answer, you have to post a hand.
