AKo in a small pot and I\'m not happy with my hand...

... so I get out.

Coldcalling villain is a little loose preflop and his postflop play seems somewhat weak. For example, he has raised preflop, got called by BB (me) checked behind on a ragged flop HU instead of c-betting, then he folded to a turn bet.

Discounting my outs from 10 to about 8 because of some reverse domination fears and the RIO payoff when he picks up two pair or a flush, I figured myself to be short on odds and check-folded. Is it possible that I fold the best hand here? I suppose it is, but I don't know if it's often enough against a guy unwilling to c-bet a ragged flop and fold the turn UI in a heads up pot against BB.

With all due respect.

This is terrible.

KJ, AJ, As9s, As7s, As6s, As5s, As4s, As3s, As2s, Ks9s, Ks7s, Ks7s.

Those hands you beat.

22, 33, 55, 66, 77, 99.

Those hands you have 10 outs vs.

Really! Dont fold. If he is weak I bet and c/c blank river. If he was a bad LAG I would c/c c/c blank river.

You cant ever fold this turn!

I would probably fire again because there are a lot of drawing hands that peel flop (KJ, 97, XY[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], or A9/K9). We can then re-eval on the river UI.

I don't think a weak player calls the flop with those hands. Maybe 99.

You've made a list of hands that I'm ahead of, and it's not that big. Maybe 35 hands or so (removing the pocket pairs)? Now how many hands are ahead of me and how many outs do I have against those hands?

Then, how often do I lose an extra BB on the river by being OOP and having to pay off two pair hands? (By the way, I'm not particularly thrilled about betting a KQT river, and if I did bet, I would have to bet-fold).

Finally, how bad is it when a slowplayed hand like QT/T8s/88 raises this turn on me and I'm now definitely stuck calling with significantly better pot odds and not many outs?

We can prolly discuss this forever without agreeing. Its prolly somewhere in between. So discount them.

Actually bet/fold c/f is an option.

Besides. If you c/c river. He is gonna check soooooo often

Who says you need to bet Q or T river? I know they imporved you. But to be honest I think there is more value in c/c as he is gonna check behind a bunch of marginal hands that beats you.

Aaron. Dunno if the table was short or if it was a 6max.

Either way: fold less

I guess I'm just weak tight but I fold here. Even if he calls PF with T9, J9, Q9 or QT he's not going away. Chasing a 4-7 outer is spew imo.

This is something that surprises me everytime I read the FR fora

Why is it that villain pr definition has a made hand whenever hero misses the flop? Why cant he have one of the million possible draws out there?

You FR guys should be forced to play sessions without a fold button.

Re: AKo in a small pot and I\'m not happy with my hand...

I think the size of the pot is a big factor here. It's small and really the only thing you have here that makes you inclined to call is that your opponent is weak. Maybe this is more of a NL thing since you can't punish calling down as much in Limit but I think you can find a better spot against this guy. He's going to make a lot of mistakes and the pot here is small so you don't need to worry about taking it down nearly as much as if it was big.

I'm surprised after reading all the replies how many said you should call, but I kind of understand the logic. I hadn't accounted for draws as much as I should have I think, but I still think that with such a small pot that a fold can't be that bad.
