3rd button in rr pot, value?

Villain is a donkey, fairly aggro. I have only been at the table a couple of orbits so no great read. He checked back the turn pretty fast and it looks to me like he's playing for showdown. Should I try for value against AK/AJ? cc, cf, bc and bf all seem to have merits, depending on bet size.

Usually c/f, although there's nothing really wrong with a small b/f.

Why does every post I make about thin value bets get ignored?

btw Hero bet $125. Like/dislike the underbet?

Looks good, especially with your turn read. Definitely value from smaller pairs or AK/AJ. This also serves as a cheap showdown bet vs AT, 99, 88.

kinda hate your bet size since you're like never underbetting as a bluff here, and the number of hands you bet 125/call a raise with that get there like this are, well, slim.

your basically just turning your hand face up, and even if he's not good enough to bluff-raise you here, he's probably conscious enough to not call with AJ here.

so bet 170

How do you think he percieves your calling range after his 3bet pf? I don't see him calling AK/AJ at all tbh unless you have some history. I think its too thin in general.

Well I guess I'm not betting this amount as a bluff, but villain is a random donkey and we've never played before. You think he knows that?

Obviously I wasn't planning on bet folding.

He's a fish, he doesn't know what a hand range is.

i like the bet but its pretty player dependent

based on the timing and your description i would say this is a good spot for it
