20 nl all in shove

Hi guys first post after pottering around reading the advise 4 a while. Villain 48/27/7 over 27 hands so although he appears really aggressive too small a sample size. MP seems solid 16/12/3 over approx 300 hands.

Prima Network No-Limit Hold'em, $0.20 BB (6 handed) Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com

Hero ($32.60)
Button ($19.70)
SB ($7.84)
BB ($26.25)
UTG ($10.58)
MP ($15.90)

Preflop: Hero is CO with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP raises to $0.8, Hero raises to $2.4, 2 folds, BB calls $2.20, MP calls $1.60.

Flop: ($7.30) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB bets $24.05 (All-In), MP folds, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $31.35

Initial thoughts where a set or an overpair does can any other line take make this move?. The only hand im beating that could be in his range is the AK hearts. Thoughts?

I dont like your 3bet here, I think that its too aggressive for 20nl given how light people are going to call you preflop. I would rather play TT for set value and just call.

On the flop you have a pretty rough situation - an open ended SD and a decent pair. I think that given this guys tendency to be a moron and looking at his stats I would say you will find him with an Ace high FD here sometimes as well as something like KQ which needs one of your tens. Its a tough call, but I think I can look him up here just because he is so loose.

Bear in mind that if you do call here you'll never be more than a slight favourite so you're in for a rough ride.

So you would only 3 bet QQ+ / AK as a default? Obviously 3 betting lighter if you have a good read that villain folds to the 3 bet too often.

I think a 3bet pre-flop can be fine.

Have you seen villian overbet shove like this before?

That would be my default range, yes. If I noted that villain was raising light I would amend this but against an unknown I would use that range.

I say fold the flop. I don't really think it's too close.
