Deep stack in low limit games?

I was playing 25/50 limit and a guy enters w/ $30,000??? Another friend of mine was playing 5/10 nl and a guy enters w/ $30,000 as well. They played fairly tight.

Anyone else seen this? What gives?

If you are talking about limit games people just want to show off their BR so they bring it all to the table even though they only need 1-2% of it.
