Don't remind me about my foray into LIMCASH.
My opponent ran like a Kenyan marathoner and I dumped like 50 BB in about 150 hands. |

Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
My head almost exploded reading that hand dave - it's limit, it's a tournament, _and_ the hand is converted wrong (format 2+2 not FTR!)
edit: ninja reconversion gives the hand only 2 strikes. |
Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
Yeah, I know it is only a tourney, but I have to give cash a rest for a while. I play these once in a while for kicks, and this just happened, and I thought, wow, I know where to post this.
"Two out of three ain't bad." (I don't know if that goes for strikes) |
Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
Ended Sept running hot as [censored] and started October playing well and getting bad beated. Cool. Got a shortstack donk down to 12$, then he 2xed twice in a row all in pf w/ me 60/40, then he had qq vs my 88 all in pf 20bb deep, then he had kk against my qq all in pf and ended up over 120.
Maybe I'll move up to 2/4 by the end of the month. Massively overrolled (at least by most of your standards) for 1/2 right now. September overall was fine, but not as good as August. Had about a 3 week break-even stretch in the middle of September and won a ton in the first 5 and last 5 days. Oh yeah, and limcash is stupid. |

I hate cash, but can someone comment onfthis hand for me? He had semi-bluffed alot of pots, so I felt like I was ahead, was it just a bad beat, or are there errors made here? he seemed 100% like a donk, but had never played him before Full Tilt Poker Game #3733317519: Table Megan (6 max) - $3/$6 - No Limit Hold'em - 7:24:20 ET - 2007/10/02 Seat 1: PrimordialAA ($1,463) Seat 6: jaywks ($624) PrimordialAA posts the small blind of $3 jaywks posts the big blind of $6 The button is in seat #1 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to PrimordialAA [Js Tc] PrimordialAA raises to $18 jaywks calls $12 *** FLOP *** [8s Th 2d] jaywks checks PrimordialAA bets $24 jaywks raises to $78 PrimordialAA calls $54 *** TURN *** [8s Th 2d] [6h] jaywks has 15 seconds left to act jaywks bets $132 PrimordialAA raises to $360 jaywks has 15 seconds left to act jaywks calls $228 *** RIVER *** [8s Th 2d 6h] [9c] jaywks bets $168, and is all in PrimordialAA calls $168 *** SHOW DOWN *** jaywks shows [7h 4s] a straight, Ten high PrimordialAA mucks jaywks wins the pot ($1,247.50) with a straight, Ten high *** SUMMARY *** Total pot $1,248 | Rake $0.50 Board: [8s Th 2d 6h 9c] Seat 1: PrimordialAA (small blind) mucked [Js Tc] - a pair of Tens Seat 6: jaywks (big blind) showed [7h 4s] and won ($1,247.50) with a straight, Ten high |

Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
Guys i play for a living about 50% HU cash and 50% NL 6max. Mostly around the 400 games but getting coached and looking too move up.
Anyway sometime I get bored I fire up one or two sit and goes nothing big usually $20 or 50's. I know thats considered somewhat small stakes but its usually just for fun and i dont really want to give money away to better players. I was thinking about incorporating about 10% HUsng's into my play to mix it up. Can anyone link me to a few post they feel would be super useful. Ie for a non-HU beginner moving from cash to tournies, kinda like the FAQ in most other forums. Thanks |
Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
Just found the sticky good stuff, if you have any other fav posts on HU torneys, or things i need to know. Please link them, thanks

Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
lol, didnt even stress me, these donks are all the same, but I dropped down a few limits incase I felt tilty, and am still somehow up 3k today... yay cash , anyways, I dont even like winning $ when it's at cash, cause im supposed to be good at S&Gs rofl.. and somehow my results in those just havent been coming around, so hopefully this month or next I can really pull it together

Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
really though, are any of the other SNG players playing alot more cash, trying to transition between the two. I have found myself alot more attracted to cash recently, but I think it's prolly a bad decision for me in the long run, just wondering if anyone else is doing this?
|
Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
primo,
what kind of cash you playing and at what limits? Indy |
Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
Primordial, I am 100% in your shoes. I am an avid SNG player(10k plus games), however the recent lure of playing cash has struck me. I have only played for about ehh a week or so; 1/2 2/4 and up over 3k. Maybe its just cause I havent played cash in so long but loving the switch, not sure if I should continue though.....

Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
just that fact that I have studied HU SNGs extensively and besides reading some books and my own poker knowledge, I have only casually watched some cardrunner vidoes, so I feel that my largest edge and game I have the most skill game (SHOULD) be HU SNG.
And indy, i've decided to stick to 2/4 NL (decision that came to me today lol), if I feel I can't handle it or the swings are too large for my tastes, I have no problem going to 1/2, or even .5 / 1, but we'll see |

The key to limited hold thems is to put a man at risk for one of his chips.

I can't get my computer to save hand histories, but I found a solution: the ol' flash drive. Giddyup.
PT only minimally helps out for heads up anyway, but now I can actually know my winrates. |
Re: *****October LC Thread: LIMCASH is the new NLCASH*****
got this email from stars. other night after a session i noticed my balance was less than it should have been after playhing a bunch of turbo hu sngs. didn't think much of it (thought i'd made mistake calculating). then i get this email.
PokerStars has become aware of two players who were working together in our Sit & Go tournaments to the detriment of other players. You were involved in at least one tournament with these players and as a result you may have been adversely affected. The players' accounts were closed and their funds frozen pending a thorough investigation, which is now complete. Fortunately the problem was identified quickly and they had only played in a few tournaments before the accounts were closed. In a case such as this it is our policy to confiscate the colluders' winnings or balances and to distribute them to the players affected by their actions in as fair a way as possible. To confirm your credit, log onto your PokerStars account, go to the 'Cashier' screen and click the 'History' button. Your share will be shown "Credit Purchase", followed by the amount of the credit. |
