20/180 and I've just been moved to the table less than 5 hands ago and folded everything. I have T1800 @ 50/100. Blinds will be 100/200 in less than 5 minutes. BB and MP and both sitting out during this hand for whatever reason.

I open Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG+1 to T400, guy to my left insta shoves for T1100 total, folds back to me.

You are getting nearly 3:1 so i would say yes you did

yes call as played but why open so much? just open to 250...if a short stack pushes call...if a bigger stack reraises or pushes it's easier to fold

Forgive me if this sounds condescending (I don't spend a whole lot of time on tournaments), but how is raising 1.5x the BB OOP against, at least typically speaking of the 20/180's, opponents who are too loose that cannot be c/b a good idea?

raising 1.5 is awful. its a min raise and itj ust makes math and odds so awkward nad the right play so questionable

I don't think I'm all that interested in discussing PF. With two dead spots, especially the BB this is a raise. There is almost zero chance I get squeezed, waaaay to early for that.

if blinds are 50/100 then 250 is a 2.5BB raise. This gives you the chance to fold if someone comes over the top of your raise. By raising to 400 you pretty much can't fold as that's a significant amount of your stack in there already.

With less than 20 big blinds in my stack, I doubt I would be messing around with QJs, especially in early position. I might try to open from the CO or button, but not here. I just noticed that two players were sitting out, which I suppose could affect that decision, however.

It looks like you're getting a little better than 2:1, so I would call.
