henry17=psychology troll

Just thought I'd point out a mildly disguised argument troll in psych:

in this thread

[ QUOTE ]
If there is no psychological manifestation it is not a disease. As such the vast majority of psychology is complete BS (cognitive being the only legitimate sub-discipline). Regardless if you want to have the psychology is real debate then start a different thread. I don't want to derail this one.

[/ QUOTE ]

pretty lol cause he brought it up in the first place

and basically his arguments in this thread are completely trolling/derailing the guy's thread.

someone to keep an eye on/possibly ban.

some more choice quotes derailing the other guy's thread

[ QUOTE ]
Anyone who fails at law school is a loser.

[/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ]

1) Over the last 3 years I'd say the game has stayed consistent. About 2003 the games became so soft that it is hard to judge but anyone who can't make money now never will

He set off my troll radar in EDF too, although that might be jealousy.

Re: henry17=psychology troll

hes a pretty good, polite and knowledgable poster in BFI so this suprises me. Someone should send him a warning though

Re: henry17=psychology troll

a lot of what he is saying is flat out wrong and has been proven so by tons and tons of research. i don't know what, if any policies the psychology forum has in place about this, but since the person who moderates it is allegedly a practicing mental health professional i would hope such tripe would be corrected or removed.

his whole 'if there is no psychological manifestation then it's not a disease' post doesn't even make sense, i can't even figure out what he's trying to say.

Sweet [censored], the fact that so many people are living in the dark age when it comes to their views about mental health issues depresses me (<-depression isn't real btw) to no end.

I just can not [censored] believe, in 2007, people actually press a couple buttons, they're magically transported to the world of the internet, then the irony is totally lost on them when they type something tantamount to, "WELL GOLLY GEE, IF I CAN'T SEE IT WITH MAH 2 EYES, IT MUST DONE DID DONT EXIST!'

I haven't noticed anything amiss in his Zoo posts, and I have PMed with him on occasion.

I've sent him a "please reel it in a bit" PM. Sometimes, that's all it takes, so, hopefully, we won't have too much more to complain about from him.

Nice furball there, NT! I'll overlook your bitchy tone, to which I've grown accustomed from dealing with other PMS-suffering social workers.

FWIW, I just reviewed the thread in which Henry said Psychology was B.S. I actually had read those comments soon after they were posted, but saw that other posters had already responded to him with comments like "You are a moron." Consequently, I saw no pressing need to delete his comments or ban him.

Re: henry17=psychology troll

So a poster is allowed to make completely misleading, trollish posts so long as he gets a reaction out of people? Nice.

Call me crazy for thinking that the mods who so richly criticize OOT moderation ought to be able to clean up their own forums, when they deal with about 5% of the traffic we do.

I'm not a social worker, BTW.

Re: henry17=psychology troll

Unfortunately, without being specific, (which I wasn't), he doesn't seem to feel that he has posted anything unacceptable:

I'm not really sure which of my posts are considered trolling. The closest I'd say was when I had an issue with Shoe's CC ponzi scheme in BFI but that was weeks ago and that you are sending me this now implies it is something more recent.

Oh well thanks for the heads up but if I get banned I get banned. The only recent items I can see anyone having an issue with would be my implication that having pie in the sky dreams makes people sound delusional or my position that poker is not hard. If that hurt someone's feelings then <shrug>.

Does anyone want me to point to particular posts with which you have problems?
