Iggy\'s Week 8 NFL picks

I didn't think I knew enough about the NFL to post picks, but I've actually gone 12-2 so far this year, so I'm getting a little more confident.

Houston at Tennessee -3 (2 units)
One good home win does not a good team make. Jacksonville's not a very good road team, and I'm not about to believe that Houston's completely turned their season around or anything. In their two previous road games this year, they lost to Indy 43-24 and lost to Dallas 34-6.

Tennessee meanwhile has been improving rapidly under Vince Young following the near-miss against the Colts with a 25-22 road win over Washington. They're also coming off a bye week, and I think this will be especially invaluable with a young QB who could use the extra week of film study.

That's my only pick so far, but I'll definitely do something with the under on Denver/Indy. I'm thinking the Peyton fanboys will probably continue to bet it up throughout the week, giving it a better price. (It's already gone from 36.5 to 37 (+103). If nothing else, I'll take the under on Denver's team total, as it's projected at 20 right now, and I really can't see Denver scoring that much against anyone.

One more thing: Can someone tell me when NFL team totals usually come out on Pinny? I don't want to have to take the under on Denver at -130 or something.

Probably could have held off longer here and gotten a better price, but I decided that the lines were good enough.

Indianapolis/Denver under 38 (-103) (2 units)
Denver under 20.5 (-110) (2 units)

Once again, Denver hasn't scored more than 17 once all year, and the highest total for any of their games was 28. I know Indy's high-scoring, but their trend's nowhere near as strong as Denver's and their defense is close to average than to awful. I'd say Denver scores 13 to 17 points and Indy ends up with 10 to 20.

Jesus Christ, did I ever jump the gun on this. The O/U's now at 39.5 on Pinnacle. If it keeps going up, I'm going to have to add on to this on Saturday just out of general principle.

Or double up if the Denver team total reaches 21.5?

I'm with you on the UNDER... but there's no reason to add on more because of a line move.

Yeah, usually I figure that adding on because of a line move is a bad play, but with the Peyton factor, I just have a feeling that this line move is very square, and that the extra points just represent extra value. Took another 1.5 units on the under 40. I'm not adding to the team under on Denver unless it goes to 21.5 though.

Lines increased:

Game O/U 40
Den O/U 21.

Following a little on the Unders at -108 and -105.

1-0 on the week after the Titans game went final. FWIW, I added on 2 units to the Denver team total at 21 after all.
