Comm 40: Standard?

Good must-move game yesterday. Guy who plays every hand but never raises raises UTG, 3 callers, I call on the button with KhQh, blinds call.

Flop: Kd9d3h

Checked to PFR who bets, 2 callers, I call, SB calls.

Turn: 3c

Check, PFR checks, first caller checks. The guy to my right, who is a solid/aggressive player who (I think) plays higher, bets out. I raise(???). SB folds, PFR sighs and calls, fold, guy to my right calls.

River: blank

PFR checks, guy to my right checks, I bet.

turn raise = ofc

I like raising the flop too, though am less sure of that

I do believe that raising the flop makes this much easier to play on the big streets. As played I think you have the best hand here more often than not, although the guy that never raised worries me a little by cold calling the turn.

The PFR probably has a diamond draw or QQ/JJ/TT and wants to light $160 on fire.

Perfect.

Did you finish second or third?

This is how I would play it.

For those advocating raising the flop; I am curious why you think this would have been better?

looks good to me. the river is closeish and i probably wouldn't valuebet against utg alone, but you always have the guy on your right beat unless he has exactly KQ, and there's way too much value to be had. i only expect to win a little more than half the time so it's thin but you gotta bet it. you're getting checkraised never.

Is PFR the type to cold-call the turn here with QQ or whatever? If not then he has to have you beat.

Yeah, once the PFR sighs and calls, I think I'm done being the aggressor in the hand. I'd probably take a free showdown here on the river. PF, flop, and turn are all good.
