I seem to recall somebody posting a link in the Internet forum a while ago about some casinos essentially putting computerized poker in their rooms - online poker, but live. While it would obviously make for less flashy television, that just seems to me like an awesome way to do things for tournaments of this scale. they have these at a casino I went to in the uk, it was way better, there was a 30s time limit and it was out in the casino so loads of random people stopped by and played.

The best man at my wedding lived his whole life in Canada but his parents were from Hong Kong and had fairly heavy accents. To this day he has trouble saying "cold". Don't get me started on my Taiwanese professor who had lived here for over 20 years.

Trust me, it's not exclusively Japanese.

Interesting trivia about Vietnamese though. I'll have to make a point of listening for that.
