400 NL 2 JJ Hands

Villain is 29/24/4 and pretty LAG. We have a history of tangling a bit but haven't played much w/ him recently.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

BB ($478)
UTG ($558.70)
MP ($377.55)
Hero ($400)
Button ($388)
SB ($508.30)

Preflop: Hero is CO with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG raises to $16, 1 fold, Hero raises to $52, 3 folds, UTG calls $36.

Flop: ($110) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks.

Turn: ($110) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets $50, Hero ????

His range pf is probably pretty standard. Overpairs, AK/AQish, some scs/gappers part of the time, etc. I checked flop for pot control and b/c I think he chk/pushes a range that makes me want to pee on the keyboard. Not sure what to make of the small turn bet. Call or Raise turn and plan for rest of hand?

Villain is 19/13 and pretty smart nitty. Usually shows up w/ the goods, but his definitely capable of making moves and thin plays, etc. Basically uses his image well and plays well postflop.

Re: 400 NL 2 JJ Hands

Hibachi - I really like your analysis of Hand 1 and it was a convincing argument for some pot control with an OP vs. this specific opponent. I would still say, on average, that leading the flop should be the play. If you know someone is capable of c/r knowing he's putting you to the test, somtimes you just have to stand your ground. Even for the meta-game value. Even if he beats you to the pot, he may be less inclined in the future to make a move on you when he knows you're willing to call a little thin, which, JJ could be classified as. As played, it's a bit weak sauce but I don't see anything wrong with controlling the pot and c/c your way to a small fist pump.

Hand 2 - I definitely prefer a lead on this flop against this opponent. I also would prefer to see a bet of about $80-$85 on the turn instead of $68. As played, c/c river is probably std.

Hand 1:
I'd bet-call flop against this villain. As played call turn, call most rivers.

Hand 2.
I'd lead flop. As played check-call river.

Hand 2 is about as brickish as you can get on the flop. I will lead with a freakin' tonne. Moreover, I will take a tonne of different lines here. Unless your villain has hit a set or has slow-played an OP, this hand is yours.

If he flats? Fire again no matter what comes out for me.

If he shoves? Hmm a little trickier. Against a nit I think it's a clear fold.

I like betting river on hand 2, people are so retarded he'll call with 88. Check/calling seems dumb, idk the only thing he bets that we're ahead of is a strong 9, and he calls a bet with that anyways probably.
