Vacation in Connecticut

Hello,

in late June and early July, I'm on vacation in Connecticut with my family (wife + 2 children 9+11 years old). We visit my sister of law in Norwalk.

Of course we'll visit NY a few times, where my sister of law works as a stock analyst. Are there any great places to visit in Connecticut? Is it worth to travel along the Connecticut River maybe into the direction of Springfield? Are there any nice little towns worth a visit? We love nature and hiking as well, are there any hinking tours to recommend?

Thanks for any advices in advance

With your first use of the term 'sister of law' I assumed it was a typo, but then you used it again. Where does this come from? I have never heard anyone express it like that.

Well, investigating just where eigenvalue is a mod of, since I'd never seen him around, he's modding in the German forums. I think that might have something to do with it. No worries.

Eigen,

You should be pretty close to Foxwoods, and subsequently, the largest poker room run by a casino in the world. You'll have to see if the wife will let you escape.

I never considered that it was a translation thing as the rest of it is pretty much flawless English. Thanks wook.

Can't help on teh Conneticut thing as I've only ever driven through and it was many years ago.

Oh yes, sorry, it's my sister in law of course. You are right, I'm from Germany. I'll be able to play online there a lot, because she has a house with 2 internet connections and the other adults (my wife, my sister in law and her friend) like to cook. While they do all that cooking stuff in the evening, I'll earn our money for the flight back playing online poker in the cellar (little joke).

Are there any short handed tables available at Foxwoods? Do they offer SNG stuff or MTTs? Well I can ask Bill (the friend of my sinster in law), though he thinks he has life time bad luck in poker.

All the tables are 10 max at FW. They offer tournaments, but you'd have to ask someone else about the details for them.

Here's a good link to some of Connecticut's tourism.

You should also consider a day trip up to Boston.

There's a lot of quaint towns in Litchfield County, the northwestern part of the state. A lot of nice hikes out that way as well; can't think of any specific. There are areas in southeastern CT that are nice as well; old Mystic to name one. Some good seafood. Lenny and Joes is a good seafood place, and Abbott's has some very good lobster. Gillette Castle is pretty, but haven't been there since I was a kid.
