NL200 - Over pair; turn paired the board

Vilain is a standard TAG standard, pretty good player.
Here, I was 15/11 and pretty nit so far in this game. We played on the same table for more than 1 hour and I didnt really showed any crap yet.

Seat 1: Vilain ($401.70)
Seat 2: justfoldit ($188.00)
Seat 3: mike1978 ($117.90)
Seat 4: fjutsie ($400.00)
Seat 5: HERO ($265.90)
Jim_Tonique posts the small blind of $1.00
fjutsie posts the big blind of $2.00
The button is in seat #2

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Hero [Qd Qc]
Hero relance à $7.00
Vilain calls $7.00
justfoldit folds
mike1978 folds
fjutsie folds

*** FLOP *** [3c 7s 8c]
Hero mise $12.00
Vilain calls $12.00

*** TURN *** [3c 7s 8c] [8s]
Hero mise $34.00
Vilain raises to $95.00
Hero ???

Call? Push? Fold?

if he floated the flop with 87 or 88 77 he just got a full house, so i dunno why he wants to raise so bad

to me it looks like a takeaway play, i'd try to put him all in

Why wouldn't he?

This is a tough spot. If villain flopped set/2-pair he MUST raise this flop, so this kinda look like a semi-bluff on a scare card.

I say stick it in ..

There are two flush draws out there, but I doubt TAG nit gets there with such unless its AKs and even then I don't like his turn play..This is more likely to be TT/JJ than 88/87/77...

Just get it in ...

What's about a 89s?

I guess a set would raise this board; two-pair, most of the time, this is also a raise.

What's about a 89s? Doesnt it make sense?

It's passible, as well as A8s I guess, but he's calling an UTG raise from MP so none of them are likely and they are only 2 combos each.

I think this a flopped set, a draw or a low PP turned into a bluff. A set/2-pair should be raised on the flop 100% and a draw will also get raised quite often. If villain's good I'd push. If villain's good he's:
1. Less likely to have 8x.
2. Less likely to slowplay set/2-pair.
3. More likely to float the flop with a draw and realise your calling range on the turn is slim.

Edit: This is a push or fold situation.

Re: NL200 - Over pair; turn paired the board

Yes, this is definitely a raise or fold situation, imo.

When I said 89s, I dont think about the 8c9c, but any 89s. I think 8c9c definitely raise on flop.

But here is how I see the action:
preflop: vilain call with SC in position.
flop: Hero is doing a standard CB, vilain with 89s do not know if he is ahead or behind. He prefered a call and will reevaluate turn; as hero pretty nit, vilain will bet most of the time and take the pot right there if hero check. If hero bet, vilain can fold his 89s without any problem knowing he is certainly behind.
Turn: miracle turn for vilain with 89s: he now made trips and hero still bet in his face. So he raises and try to get as much value as possible, as the board pretty drawy.

Make sense?
