Why is the bottom button unbuttoned?
 

In suits, why is the bottom button left unbuttoned?
Anyone have insight on this?

I thought you were supposed to unbutton when you sit down. I always do.

He means unbutton all the buttons when you sit down. The third one should always be unbuttoned.

I always undo the 3rd button so I can put my hands in my trouser pockets comfortably...

I also leave the bottom button of a button down shirt unbuttoned when wearing it untucked.
