Bizzare Foods with Andrew Zimmerman

Anyone else find this TV program utterly disgusting yet funny at the same time?

For those who have never seen it, its about this Bald Porky White Chef guy named Andrew who goes to like foreign/2nd world countries and eats their cusine...

Example : In alaska he ate fermented raw seal flipper ( Seal flipper which is raw and burried in ground for many months to let rot)

I mean I try not to throw up when I watch it but it's so funny how he gives his culinary views on the horrid foods he eats....

Anyone else watch this show? It's on the Travel Channel

I saw a few commercials for it the other day. I don't understand the appeal of this show, though. It's like Fear Factor without the competition.

He exemplifies the ugly american. Goes to other countries and talks down to them about their cuisine and acts like a bitch the whole time "this is too spicy that is too raw this is too strong ewww that smells yuck yuck" i'd like to slap that bitch across the face

solids,

the way the show goes though, he doesn't frame it like "omg, look at this grosssss food im going to eat" and he never shows any puking/gross face reactions, so thats not what its all about.

its actually a pretty interesting show. in reality, not all the food he eats are THAT gross and its more of a travel/food show.

Yea amazingly enough he actually enjoys a LOT of the foods he tries and their textures (lol) like the fried chicken head or Goat Balls and rice... I have never seen him demean any of the natives.

Agreed, I think I only saw the alaska one but he actually made it seem bizarrely tasty.

The way you describe it sounds a lot different then their commercials. They're all like, 'Watch this dude eat some worms, donkey dicks, and other gross [censored]. Lolz.'

But maybe I'll catch the next episode afterall. I like the travel channel, and I typically have a 'when in rome' type of attitude when it comes to food, so this show sounds interesting.

I've seen a couple episodes, and I have yet to see him react worse than when he went to eat stinky tofu in I think it was Taipei.
