thats sort of the problem i don't know where i could plug in the red/white rca jacks. all the plugs in my sound system are taken up by cords for the speakers.

are those cables the standard Xbox brand cables? Mine came with a little splitter thing that took the RCA cables and allowed me to plug them into a headphone jack on my speakers. iirc that is

I use a vga cable to connect to my projector and then optical to connect to my stereo for digital surround. What kind of receiver do you have? There is probably graeter than 90% changce it has an optical input.

What type of inputs do you have on it? I would imagine it must have a optical, or something like a headphone jack? Or a single rca jack? If its either of the last 2 you can buy a simple adapter to change the red/white rca jacks into the one you need. Hopefully you have an optical jack as thats the best way to go anyways.

Does this cable work with this type of old analogue VGA monitor inputs?

I'll be moving to a new city soon, and am waiting until then to buy an HD-TV, but have an old monitor kicking around which could be a decent temporary solution (better than playing through regular scart connection on TV).
