Villain is a bad lag, ghost_crab for those of you who play on party. We have some history and he probably sees me as a pretty straight forward tagish player.

You likely have villian beat. That said, villian is likely only calling turn or river with hands that have you beat, or a draw that just got there. (w/ history some villians might call you down lighter than that with a 6 or 3, but I don't think this is the situation here.)

I like checking it down. If he bets river, I call.

ghost crab is terrible so i know why you want to bet... but i still think he folds too many of the hands youre trying to get a call out of to make this a good idea.

Isnt he bad in the way that you would want to check everything on the river though? and call.

I agree. I think as long as you're mixing up your play enough then you can still get value from some hands at this river. You got to assume any hand he has that has decent showdown value will be checked behind at river so I think theres more value in betting than check/calling
