This sounds kinda like "Give it away" RHCP, but the RHCP I like the most is the "Californiacation" RHCP if that makes sense. also, 42it, you are so incredibly 80s. :-)

thanks for the Mars Volta suggestion, I had vaguely heard of them and the stuff I've previewed so far sounds good.
