I would've never guessed that's what Jim Caple sounds like. Not in a million years.

Jesus Christ the trolls are ridiculous in this thread

Give me a freaking break

Jimenez is a better matchup against the Sox than francis is, period. If his stuff is on, which is a big IF obviously, he will hold the sox to 4 runs in 6 innings of work

We are going to score 5-6 runs in this game I think, so our pitching has to make that stand up.... in other words it's all on Ubaldo tonight

I'd give us a 28% chance of winning, we need too many things to fall into place IMO

Just to clarify, you've conceded the series??

If Jimenez has his command (huge IF, well said, Nez)...if he has it, he can lock down. Dude throws 100mph heat with movement, *and* a sub 80 mph changeup.

If Schilling recaptures past glory, he can still dominate. If he's topping out at 90mph, the Rockies are gonna clock him.

This game can go anywhere from 2-0 to 10-8, frankly.

I'm not conceding [censored]. I am a realist-stat analyzing hardcore baseball junkie though and our chances, as they were coming in, aren't great.

I just want them to play good baseball.

Jimenez needs to throw strikes. I like the Sox in Fenway.

Also, the Rockie offense gets an enormous boost from Coors. Tulowitski and Hawpe lose 170 points of slugging, Atkins and Helton lose 90 points, Holliday loses 250 (!) points, Matsui loses 150 points, and Tavaras loses 50 points.

Ubaldo actually has reverse splits (he's far worse on the road), but that's due to his small sample size so who knows.

True that, you've been very realistic which is something some people should take note of. In my opinion power pitchers dominate the playoffs, maybe Jimenez has command of his stuff some small percentage of the time, but power pitchers who are wildcards like that scare me in the playoffs much moreso than a soft-tosser who put up great numbers in the regular season. I predicted 8-5 Red Sox but that could sway a whole [censored] ton considering the x-factors on both teams. Looking forward to a good game, going out to get a bottle of Jack now

With a righty pitching, probably Lowell, though I can see an argument for Ortiz given his knees. With a lefty pitching 100% Ortiz.
