Cutting Chips and Pulling Back
I got curious about this after seeing it mentioned in another thread. I reach out with a stack of 16 quarters in my hand. I cut 3 stacks for a $300 dollar bet and pull the other 4 chips back. OK? I did this in Tampa recently and the dealer looked at me like I was an alien. What ruling have you seen and where?

Re: Cutting Chips and Pulling Back
That's a perfectly standard bet.
Just say the amount as you start the bet, that way you can't go wrong. |
Re: Cutting Chips and Pulling Back
Difficulty arises if the other guy calls your bluff fast and then you decide to check with your stack in your hand

Re: Cutting Chips and Pulling Back
If you didn't declare the bet size prior, forward motion indicates a bet and the amount in hand must be bet (milage may vary).

To ZP: nope.
The rule varies by house. |
