Viral link or innocent?
 

Poster NotTheDingo, newly registered with 5 posts, did a quote in this thread, but the link in the quote in his post was changed to be prefaced by a proxy server.

I've deleted his link just in case, you can see a modified version in this post.

NotTheDingo's explanation for the change in the link is:

I'm not tech savvy enough to know if this is reasonable or if the link he posted is in fact viral. Can someone look into it in my absence?

He only has 5 posts, so it's no tragedy if he has to start again. Yet, I hesitate to perma-ban someone if it was innocent.

I find that explanation pretty improbable.

edit: you could just tell him that in the future he's not to have any links in his posts. If he has a repeat episode, nuke.

The link is clean. I actually banned and unbanned him earlier today. Even though that explanation is rather improbable
