$10 HUSNG - JTo early on

Stacks are about even. Only played a few hands, villain has called a pfr and folded to a cbet. He's been passive in the first few hands.
blinds 10/20
effective stacks ~1500
Hero is on btn w/ J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

hero raises to 60
Villain calls

flop [J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]]

Villain checks
Hero bets 80
Villain raises to 160
Hero raises to 500
Villain calls

turn [Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]]

Villain checks
Hero...

I'm on a downswing lately, and although I'm leaning strongly for shoving here, I just don't know anymore.

you already have 1/3 of your stack invested and sooo many rivers could kill your hand

i dont see how you can do anything but shove here

The correct move is to shove on the flop.

edit: as played: shove.

Shoving the flop is a pretty huge overbet.

Considering the texture of the flop it's probably not that bad of a shove, but I think raising 500-600 gets a lot more value out of JX and some draws.

Yea like Jx is raise/fold here in a 10 (or anywhere for most villains)....

I would, however, pop it up to like 550-600 rather than 500.

No one at this level is likely to lay down Jx or draws. The question is why he is cr'ing. This normally means a bluff, a draw, or a J. 2 out of 3 he isn't laying down, IMO. Basically no matter what comes on the turn, we are still shoving. Even if we are against an open-ender, we are doing better than coin-flip with 2 pair.

If you're scared that he pulled ahead with the Q, you've got MUBS hard. This is a shove all day.

I disagree on shoving flop but shove turn for sure.
