No reads. I am new to omaha, and suspect this was a donk play (i hit a backdoor flush and he mucked, so i dont know if my play was right in this instance, but how is it in general?)

You'll be up against top set some of the time, but don't let that deter you from making the same play. Unless you have very strong reads that opponent has top set, you basically have to play it like that.

straight and flush draws are possible as well. If he had both you are almost a coin flip. So this play is fine at this level especially.

The HH should show what he mucked.
