Wild rumors re: A CAZ player\'s poker related suicide

'Facts' are sketchy. Rumors regarding this Casino Arizona mid-limit player's suicide in LV are running wild in CAZ's upper limit section.

What is known:

A regular, well known player in the 20 and 40 HE games named Roberto (nationality unknown. Some say Mexican some say Portuguese) committed suicide in LV. He was a very likeable guy, friendly and easy to get along with. Appx. 40 years old and a chiropractor by profession.

The WILD rumor:

He killed himself after losing a humongous NL hand. The rumored hand is not in question. It's claimed that he flopped quad 10's. On the turn another player made a str8 w/ a str8 flush re-draw and (as the rumor goes) somewhere between $250,000 and $500,00 EACH went into the pot (I told you it was a wild rumor). Anyway, according to the story, Roberto's opponent hit the str8 flush and Roberto killed himself later.

The rumor has the game taking place somewhere in LV. Bobby's Room (discounted), a suite in Bellagio or someone's house and maybe the hand was a set-up.

At any rate, Roberto's dead and some of us down here at CAZ are wondering if anybody in LV that reads this board has heard this rumor and can comment on it.

How did the other guy get that much money in on the turn with only a straight on a paired board?

Just because you and I wouldn't doesn't mean that someone else wouldn't. Anyway, this part of the rumour is the 'tough to swallow' part. Nobody guessed that Roberto had this kind of money yet the rumor persists.

It's too bad I can't find a pic of him. He final table the CAZ's 'State Champion' tourney last year and there's a pic on the casino wall but not anywhere I can find to post it.

I'm assuming most of the rumour is BS except for the suicide part being somehow gambling related.
