Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
I've never been to Caesar's Indiana. A guy I know wants to go there with a friend of his.
Can you recommend any hotels or motels nearby (in addition to the Caesar's hotel)? Also, your comments or experiences with them. Thanks. Also, do you have any comments regarding recent experiences trying to get a poker room rate at Caesar's? |
Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
I don't think they have a poker room rate but I am local so I never asked.
There are a couple of hotels right there at the exit. I think one is a Holiday Inn express and the new one is a Hampton Inn. Many of the out of town players stay at Georgetown, In. I can't remember the brand of the hotel it is Motel 6 or Super 8 something like that and fairly new. |
Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
Yep, Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn in New Albany. Otherwise, your best bet is Louisville. If you don't drink too much and can leave before you are exhausted, New Albany or Louisville are going to be much cheaper.
However, if you are like me, you'll want to be able to walk to your room at 5 a.m. It's a long walk from the casino to the hotel, though If you have a Harrah's total rewards card, you get a discount. Funny, I was just checking for rates at Caesars, IN, and I save $30 Sat. night with my card ($169 as opposed to $199). Sometimes I stay in my camper in the parking provided for such. Steamboatin, how far away is Georgetown? Maybe I'll see you Saturday? |
Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
Probably six or seven miles from the New Albany exit. I used to play a lot in the $10-20 game, before it got seriously damaged by NL, and there were a number of players that came down from Indy. Many of the poker only players told me they stayed at Georgetown because it was clean and cheap. The players that gambled on table games had comped rooms at Caesar's so they stayed onsite.
Okay Mapquest says 14.47 miles and 19 minutes from Motel 6 at Georgetown, IN to Caesar's IN. |
Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
I've stayed at the Caesar's hotel before, but didn't get the poker player rate because I didn't ask for it. I'm sure they might give you a player discount if you ask. I have however stayed at the Holiday Inn Express about 10 minutes away. I think it is well worth the money savings to stay at Holiday Inn. I think it cost me like $80 as opposed to >$200 at the Caesar's hotel on the weekends. I think I was only in my room for a few hours before I had to get up and leave. $80<$200
|
Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
I agree, sdill. It's tough to make the drive, but if you stay safe, it's definitely worth the savings.
Since I'm going alone this weekend and won't have my bf to share the costs, I'm going to stay at the Holiday Inn. Still kills me to spend $80+ for a few hours in a bed and a shower! |
Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
what time are you going to be there? Like actually in the poker room? I can probably break free to stop by and say hello.
|
Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
my advice is to seek out a seven star member who will be able to get as many free rooms as they like. offer them $50 or $75 or whatever.

Jeffersonville (right across the river from Louisville) may also be an easier option. |
Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
Alas, Ceasars Indiana, the poker room is still many ways the stepchild of the Casino, and last I heard they don't give a poker rate.
The only exception is during the WSOP Circuit Event, when they give out a special code for you to book your rooms at the special rate. If you are coming for the WSOPCE, be sure to use the code given in the press release for the WSOPCE announcements on the http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com website. There is also a thread in the Tourney forum (under the Tunica Thread) that gives that code, that's the same at all Harrah's properties when booking rooms for the WSOPCE. BTW, if you stay at Ceasars Indiana, be sure to bring earplugs with you, as the walls in the rooms are paper thin, and you won't be able to sleep due to noise unless you bring those earplugs. However, the beds are wonderful there, you'll sink right into them, they are that comfortable. Edit: Try this code here: Corrected code: CO9W0RL (second 'oh' is a zero - think of it like this: Co9W0RL) |
Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
The beds are wonderful, and it is nice to be able to come and go as you please from the room to the table.
Steamboatin, I'll be playing NLHE, probably 1/2, Saturday afternoon starting by 4:00 (probably earlier) and going until who knows when (probably 2 a.m. or later). I might take a dinner break, but I'll probably just eat at the table. Blond (past shoulders and straight), blue/green eyes, thin, 39 but act 25 I'll look for the gray tweed hat!!! If anyone else sees me, say hi. My name is Shannon. My card protector is a mini Tabasco bottle (or a silver/wood horsehead if I forget the bottle). |

steamboatin, i am considering coming down for the circuit event at the end of October, but havent seen and event listing yet, do you know if one is out yet? i hail from the motor city and this is the closest tourney with multiple events and would like to try my hand at. they have been doing some heartland poker events at the majestic in gary, indiana, but it is just one event, and sattelites to the one event. i would like to buy into a couple of events and try some satellites to the bigger ones. dont get to many opportunities up here in detroit. 3 casinos and none are smart enough to line up a wpt or other major event. thanks...

Caesars Indiana 11999 Avenue of the Emperors Elizabeth, IN United States 877-367-3767 This is all I could find at the moment. I will try to remember to ask when I am down there. |
Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
Thank you for all your replies.
These two d.g.'s (degenerate gamblers) will be coming north on I-75 from Tennessee and then west on I-64 through Louisville. I googled the city name of Elizabeth, Indiana and through a few links provided saw listings of hotels and motels in the area. These were mostly from commercial services trying to get one to make reservations through them. Here is a very partial list: The mileages are from a 3rd party website, and I have no idea if they're accurate. I'm sure mapquest would be at least if not more accurate. Caesars Indiana Phone: 1-877-237-6626; Fax: 812-969-6780 11999 Ave. of Emperors Elizabeth, IN 47117 Days Inn & Suites Louisville Southwest (approx. 4.4miles 2 stars) 4051 Cane Run Road AAA approved Louisville, KY 40216 Best Western Dixie Inn (approx. 4.6 miles not rated) 1735 Stewart Avenue Louisville, KY 40216 Holiday Inn Southwest (approx 5.0 miles 3 stars) 4110 Dixie Highway Louisville, KY 40216 Super 8 Motel Louisville/expo Center Area (approx. 7.8 miles 2 stars) 101 Central Avenue Louisville, KY 40209 Hampton Inn New Albany (approx. 8.1 miles not rated) 506 West Spring Street New Albany, IN 47150 Holiday Inn Express Louisville-NW At New Albany, In (approx. 8.2 miles 2 Stars) 411 West Spring Street New Albany, IN 47150 National 888-HOLIDAY (888-465-4329) Hotel Front Desk (812-945-2771) Ramada Limited & Suites Airport/fair/expo Center (approx. 8.3 miles 2 stars) 2912 Crittenden Drive Louisville, KY 40209 |

Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
LOL. I was thinking the same thing. If you have your own Ultralight, it might work I recommend staying out of the Ohio, unless you are competing in the Ironman on Sunday!

Motel 6 in Georgetown this Saturday night is $49.99 plus tax. I'll be sleeping and showering there.

[/ QUOTE ] If you go through downtown Georgetown, there is a little Ice Cream stand on your right as you leave town. She makes good Gyros. She makes beer batter pub style fish and chips. I haven't tried the fish but those chips are the bomb! If you drive the other direction and go under the Interstate, Polly's Freeze has good ice cream. |
Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
Awesome, thanks. Gyros are my favorite sandwich!

Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
Stay away from these, as the area isn't the greatest:
Days Inn & Suites Louisville Southwest (approx. 4.4miles 2 stars) 4051 Cane Run Road AAA approved Louisville, KY 40216 Best Western Dixie Inn (approx. 4.6 miles not rated) 1735 Stewart Avenue Louisville, KY 40216 Holiday Inn Southwest (approx 5.0 miles 3 stars) 4110 Dixie Highway Louisville, KY 40216 Super 8 Motel Louisville/expo Center Area (approx. 7.8 miles 2 stars) 101 Central Avenue Louisville, KY 40209 ----------------------------------- These two are fine. I would recommend the Hampton over the Holiday Inn: Hampton Inn New Albany (approx. 8.1 miles not rated) 506 West Spring Street New Albany, IN 47150 Holiday Inn Express Louisville-NW At New Albany, In (approx. 8.2 miles 2 Stars) 411 West Spring Street New Albany, IN 47150 National 888-HOLIDAY (888-465-4329) Hotel Front Desk (812-945-2771) Also make sure to take extra special care of the dealer named Tom. Tom "The Pimp"? He likes high quality cigars but gratuities large enough to purchase said high quality cigars are also acceptable.
NOTE: This is an inside joke and not intended to ignite a tipping flame war. I probably won't make it Saturday. Looks like I am out of town all day. If I don't get to go out of town, I'll show up at Caesar's in the late afternoon or early evening. |

Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
snuffdip, how can you be found?
I'll be there Saturday. Sorry Steamboatin might not make it, but I'd like to meet at least one other 2+2er who I didn't know before I joined. My description is earlier in the thread |
Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
I'm a dealer there...my name is Tom. Only one in the room.:)

Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
Snuffdip, What the Hell? Day off? You get to sit all day and hang out with cool guys like me, why wouldn't you want to work 24/7?
PS. You missed out on a small CAO Braizlia. Javenewt was there and we had a nice chat. It was great to meet you. I got back early from the antique engine show so I made a cameo apperrance, just long enough to make a runner runner straight flush. Whoo Hoo, I run good! edited because I can't spell. |

This really isn't near a residential area. The stadium is on one side, and some restaurants surround it. That said, if you're looking to spend some time at Caesars it really makes a lot more sense to cut your daily commute in half by staying in New Albany. |
Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
Steamboatin, sent you a PM. It was great to meet you, too. I was up a few hundred, but not as much as Steamboatin, and it took me a lot longer
Stayed at the Motel 6 in Georgetown. What can I say, it's a Motel 6. However, the manager (Bonnie?) was very nice. Worth saving more than $100 for the 20-minute drive. (Saved about $50 compared to staying in New Albany for an extra 8 minutes.) The back route during the day was really pretty -- well, the way I went was. I did get lost, but managed to find my way. Missed the first turn because of a freak rainstorm. I could barely see the road in front of me. Took main roads at night, and it was fine. Didn't make it to the gyro place, but I have that to look forward to on the next trip. Hope to meet you next time, Tom. |
Re: Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana
Had a wedding this weekend, so I wasn't at work. Feel free to let me know the next time you are coming in.
