Extracting with sets oop

I've found myself oop with sets a couple of times lately and IMO lost value because I couldn't really decide which line to take.
Let's assume you limp/call pf, end up 3 handed/hu with straightforward ABC players that will cbet quite often and flop a set, what lines do you take on:

1)draw heavy boards
2)dry boards

This is always very situation dependent. Posting some specific hands is probably you're best bet.

In a general sense though on a draw-heavy board I like to bet right out. Your donk-bet looks like you're just betting your draw. If you're lucky, the pfr will interpret it this way and bump it up. At that point you get aaaaaaar in.

On a dry board, it just depends. Of course, the classic line is to check/call the flop and check/raise the turn. Some villains still won't even understand that you have a set at this point but thinking players should have a good idea. Sometimes I'll check/call the flop and then just lead with a nice stiff bet on the turn. It will confuse people and probably at least get you another call as they'll think you're FOS.

Sometimes though you're just not going to get paid off past the flop no matter what line you take. Remember, villain has to have an overpair and overplay or catch some kind of 2-pair for you to get paid.
