Best daily Vegas tournament for low rollers?? (under 70.00 entry fee)

I'm going to be in Vegas all this week and next week. I'm wondering where the best daily low entry fee tournament is held at. I have a car so it can be anywhere in town. I read that Saraha and Planet Hollwood are the best, but I'm wondering if anyone knows somewhere else. I'm pretty much looking for a decent structure. I know for 70 bucks the casino is racing to kick you out, but I'm guessing some places are better then others.

I made my first trip to Vegas back in September and after researching all of the daily tourneys, PH seemd to have the best structured tourney for a low roller like myself. I played it and enjoyed it. The entry fee was $60 I believe.

The Orleans $80 events are not unplayable structures, though there is that nasty more than 2x jump from 50/100 to 100/200/25 in there. Not on the strip, though, and you don't want to walk it.

All 3 of these are decent so based on your location on the strip each day hit one or more of these:

South Strip - Planet Hollywood
Mid Strip - Treasure Island
North Strip - Sahara

Has anyone checked out the Stratosphere lately? I guess they have 4 60.00 buy in tournaments a day and the structure is ok..

The IP has a daily noon for 60 and you get 3000 in chips. Then at 8pm they have a 80 with $10 bountys.3000 starting chips as well. Usually 40 players for both tourneys on fri, sat, and sunday. 20-30 on weekdays. Really cool tourney. Very beatable.Mostly all tourist. Not saying tourist are bad players. You no what i Mean.

Stratosphere gets my vote, I've played in two of them, chopped 3 way once and placed the 3rd in another. The Sunday night one I played had 45 people, but the Saturday afternoon one only had 27, didn't make sense to me.

The structure is decent (4K in chips, 20 min rounds), fields are weak and they take less juice when compared to PH and Sahara.

Have fun,
-Ron

Yes I know certain poker rooms have low buy-in tournaments but the structure and starting chip stacks suck.. From doing some research, it looks like PH, TI, Sahara and the Strat have the best low limit tournaments..

My wife and I are going the week of December 10 and we're looking for the exact same thing, so if you wouldn't mind sharing your experiences when you get back, I'd really appreciate it.

Last summer i played 4 tourneys at the STRATOSPHERE...there are 4 a day..2 of them are 30 plus 20 add on or rebuy...and 2 of them are 50 plus one 40 add on or rebuy..stucture was ok...Play was horrendous.. i played the 50 plus 40 and never added on or rebought because i was chipped up from the awful play...(its not a good investment mathematically a lot of the times cause the pool usually gets chopped) chopped 3 out of the 4 tourneys for an average of 500 each..

I played this tournament, but it only had 10 people both times I played. The players were horrible. I played it twice, bubbled once after getting sucked out twice by the same guy. The second one, I was down to 1500 chips with 4 left (2 paid), and 500/1000 blinds and UTG. Two guys had about 7k each and another guy had like 3500. The idiots all got all in, and the donk with the biggest stack sucked out against both of them. I managed to come back and win being down 19000 to 1000. It was pretty bad, and if you just want to screw around and be done in 2 hours its a decent tournament.

From my experience Sahara generally has more players/tourney than PH and TI so you stand to win more, but I've always experienced better floor/dealers at PH/TI as well as better rooms, which as a low stakes recreational player, goes a long way in my decision making.

But he asked for the best tournaments, and the Luxor tournaments are very bad. Even for 30 dollars.

I like the Stratosphere, Sahara and TI. Good tournaments to play for under 70.

That's not entirely accurate. There's also a $15 Admin Fee, so it's really $80 to buy in.

I think the Strat changed the buy-in's and tournament times.. Now they do 4 a day, and the buy-in is 60 bucks for 4000 chips.. They do it at 9am, 1pm, 8pm and Midnight..

If that's the same tournament I'm thinking of, you get like 250 chips, and an add on for 50 more. Ugh. Of course, that was, like, two years ago.

Besides the fact that you probably missed one of his points, "a decent structure" Since when is 350 starting chips a decent structure? Are you sure you have a CLUE?

The Luxor tournament is horrible, people shouldn't play it so management gets the idea that the structure stinks.

I think the Stratosphere tourneys are great for the buy-in and the play is okay. I've played quite a few of them and if you're aggressive you will do just fine, very passive play. Good luck!!!

I play this event often. It starts at 9 am & total cost is $70 . Good structure with 30 minute levels.

There's this tourney at Tuscany on Flamingo. 25 dollar buy in gets you 1500 in chips with a add on at the beginning for 10 dollars which gets you an extra 1000. I play in this tourney 4 times a week and its a goldmine. It is a rebuy so you have alot of donks giving away chips. Its really easy to win a n ice little bit. 1st is usually around 1200 or 1500. Not bad for 35 dollars.

The Planet Hollywood tournaments tend to be a decent value. The tournament staff is somewhat inexperienced but they try hard to run a decent small tournament,

My wife and I are headed to LV December 10-14. Based on the comments here it looks like the PH tournaments are closest to what we're looking for.

Anyone know if there's a chance at getting any kind of poker rate there if you're only playing 2-4 tournaments per day? If not, we have a reservation at Harrah's for $35/night so it's not too big a deal, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

i like orleans the best. it s $80 and i believe you get 4K in chips. it's 20 min blinds for the 1st hour and then goes up to 30 mins.

on weekends the buy-in goes up to $105 with 5K in chips.

there s alot of sr citizens who you can prey post flop.

i agree with PH as well. great value, great atmosphere....go during the ladies night tournament to watch....heh
