$25NL suited connector: play along
So I sat m'self down and started playing some $25NL poker for fun (seeing as how it's been three months since I've played any poker, and I wanted to ease m'self back into the game). I had the following hand which I thought was interesting. Play along if you'd care to.
This is about my second orbit at the table, so I have no reads of any significance. Imagine that your opponents are standard $25NL players. My table image has been slightly colored by one hand in which I lost $10 raising A6s preflop from LP, bet the flop, bet the turn, and called a smallish turn push from A7o (TPTK), missing my flush on the river. Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter) SB: $28.80 BB: $24.60 Pokey (UTG): $25.75 MP: $19.10 CO: $68.60 BTN: $84.90 Preflop: Pokey is dealt 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 Players) Pokey...? |
Re: $25NL suited connector: play along
i raise to 1 buck to get the pot HU and take it down with a cbet on the flop tha magority of the time. stacks look fine to play scs utg and 67s is a good sc to play.

Re: $25NL suited connector: play along
I usually fold it preflop just because you don't need to raise UTG for image considerations -- they don't care. Also, if you showed down A6s that you 3-bet, it really makes me less likely to raise it.
But since you raised it, it's definitely for deception and I don't mind it but it's just that if anyone is paying attention, they saw you show down A6s and you seem maniacal, this only being your 2nd orbit. |

Re: $25NL suited connector: play along
Too early to start raising this stuff utg IMO, and especially with your bad image. However, a good player will only get in so much trouble - so it depends . As played I would say plan A is to take the pot down with a cbet, as you are likely to see a flop on your typical 25nl table, but not very likely to to have the best hand when you do.

Re: $25NL suited connector: play along
Standard fold, of course, but might do it for deception or if I can flop a good hand against a station. However, with slightly off image and at 25NL I never raise anything close to this UTG or UTG+1. People don't know position down here.

Heh ... I'm in a minority here ...
So Pokey, you're gonna play 50NL or skip it again |

If we miss the flop were gone and if we flop a monster we might get paid off because of our bad image. |
Re: $25NL suited connector: play along
I run 24/19 on these tables but I am as tight as a nuns chuff UTG and very few seem to take any notice of this. However 76s is a lovely little hand and one of the few non-premium hands I do sometimes play, both for deception and to crack a "bigger" hand a donk could get married to.

Re: $25NL suited connector: play along
Is playing SC's UTG/OOP +ev? I always thought it was better to play them for a raise, or cold call them in position.
